Account & Data Deletion
How to delete your Aram account, what is permanently erased, and what we are legally required to keep.
Delete your account in the app
You can delete your account yourself at any time. No email, no waiting:
- Open the Aram app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Your account is deleted immediately. You will be signed out and will no longer be able to sign in with those credentials.
Requesting deletion without the app
If you can no longer access the app — for example you have uninstalled it or lost access to your email — write to us from the address associated with your account and we will delete it for you.
Email: info@arameu.com
We respond within 30 days, as required by Article 12(3) GDPR.
Data Details
What exactly happens to your personal data when you delete your account.
3. What is deleted
The following are erased permanently and cannot be recovered:
- Your login credentials and authentication record
- Your profile: name, email address, phone number, language preference
- All saved delivery addresses
- Your shopping cart and wishlist
- Registered devices and push notification tokens
4. What is retained, and why
We are legally required to keep records of completed purchases. Under § 132 Abs 1 Bundesabgabenordnung (BAO), accounting and invoicing records must be retained for seven years. This is an explicit exception to the right to erasure under Article 17(3)(b) GDPR.
What we keep for that period:
- Order records: order number, date, items, prices, VAT and totals
- The delivery address recorded on the order (recipient name, street, postal code, city, country), as it forms part of the invoice
- Payment references (never card numbers — we never hold those)
The link between these records and your user account is severed when you delete your account, so they can no longer be used to identify you as a customer of the app. After seven years they are deleted in full.
5. Payment data
Card details are handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe, and never reach Aram's systems. To delete data held by Stripe, contact Stripe directly.
6. Your other rights
You may also request a copy of your personal data (Article 15 GDPR) or request it in a portable format (Article 20 GDPR) by writing to the address in section 2. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of your rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde).
